Well designed

This is a well-designed kit. Of the dozens of wooden models that I have built, this one stands out as being the most precise fitment of the parts and smoothest running. It took me about 19 hours to assemble the 247 parts. It could be done in a shorter time, but I enjoy the building process and take my time. I sand the nibs off of every part and apply wood stain to match the laser burn where the sanding lightens the edge. There were five sheets of wooden parts (some plywood and some Masonite), one tree of plastic parts, plus four bags of steel shafts, springs, screws, gears, etc. Also, two preassembled gearboxes. You assemble the differential gears. To operate the car, you push a button on the bottom to set the motor brake, wind up the key in the rear, then push the driver's head back to release the brake. This all operates very smoothly.

Very fun

I'm still blind the process of building but was very excited to find out this guy winds up and droves around. Aside from a piece that is meant to wrap around the wheel breaking, all pieces are pretty sturdy and easy to assemble. The instructions are a bit confusing but can be easily understood of you have common sense.

This is a fun puzzle to assemble. It was harder an more complicated than we had originally expected so it took a while to get started at a time when we knew we could tackle it. I love that it has real motion once put together too! The listing says it takes about 5 hours to build. I think with breaks and spreading it over a couple day we completed it in about 4.25 hours total, but we're avid puzzlers.

Fun building set

Great set! My son set to work right away building. It definitely took longer to build than a Lego set of the same size which was good! It fits together well and no issues with the build. The details are well done and add to the awesome factor! It winds up easily and can go quite a ways without obstructions. It sits on my sons shelf with his lego builds when he's not using it. Glad we got it!
